Spread the love

A charity that supports families with young children in Wotton and the surrounding districts has been celebrating this New Year. Home Start Stroud and Gloucester has been working locally for over 20 years and is excited to share that its new patron, Tweedy the clown (from the well renowned Giffords circus) has been awarded the BEM in the New Year Honours List.  Speaking recently about his new patronage, Tweedy said “Im honoured to be asked to be a patron of such an important charity.  Home-Starts motto is childhood cant wait. I agree! Somebody needs to look out for the children. I love that they are making a real difference to peoples lives.”

We are always looking for volunteers to join our team especially here in Wotton.  Have you experience as a parent or grandparent? Could you spare a couple of hours each week or month helping a family? We provide informative but relaxed training to volunteers to help you support families in their homes or to get out and about in their local communities.  Our help for families is always non judgemental and provides a listening ear and practical support to families with young children up to the age of 5.    Our ultimate aim is to help families to be able to give their children the best possible start in life.

Our next training course starts on 1st March so if you would like to know a little more about us please head over to our website www.homestartsd.org or give the office a call for an informal chat 01453 297470
