Wendy Blennerhassett is organising a Pass Wide and Slow Ride to raise awareness and educate drivers on how to safely pass horses on the road.
The ride will leave Manners Farm, Wortley Road, GL12 7QP AT 12:00 pm on Sunday, the 18th September 2022. They will ride up through the High Street, past Bear Street Garage, down to the War Memorial and then back to Wortley Road.
Since December 2021 there have been 14 near misses and two horses have been hit on Wortley Road.
As this is an awareness ride, bike riders and dog walkers are also welcome. Please keep dogs on a lead. Hi viz jackets must be worn.
