2021 brought 4 new Town Councillors, a new Town Clerk, and as the pandemic restrictions lifted, the resignation of 2 Town Councillors and a member of staff. At the 2022 Annual Council meeting, the Mayor and Chairman, Cllr Roger Claydon, stood down after 3 years serving the town and was thanked for all his work over the 3 years, especially during the pandemic. The Council elected Cllr Martin Tucker as the Town Mayor and Chairman, and Cllr Teresa Creese as the  Deputy Mayor and Vice Chair of the Town Council.

Introducing Cllr Martin Tucker:

Hi my name is Martin Tucker and I’m delighted to tell you that I am the new Mayor and Chair of the Town Council.  I have been a Town Councillor for just over three and a half years and had the pleasure of being the Deputy Mayor and Deputy Chair of the Town Council for the last year.

I have been involved with many working groups during my time as a Councillor including the Car Park Working Group, the Regeneration Partnership, the Greenway Group, the Town Trust, and have just become the Deputy Chair of the Wotton Youth Partnership.

Last year I organised the Christmas Under the Edge event with the help of Teresa Creese and I’m delighted Teresa has been elected Deputy Mayor and Deputy Chair

I look forward to representing the Town and feel very honoured to have this opportunity.

Introducing Cllr Teresa Creese:

Hello, my name is Teresa Creese, my family and I moved to Wotton in 2017.  Both my boys attend The British School where I am active within the PTA.

I have been a Town Councillor for the last year and have been involved in school activities, community groups, and also helping co-ordinate events around the town including helping Martin Tucker with Christmas Under The Edge.

I am very honoured to be elected Deputy Mayor and Vice Chair of Wotton Town Council, and look forward to working with Martin and to representing the Town and the Town Council participating in groups and activities to help keep Wotton the great Town that it is.
