Spread the love

Situated on a quiet lane, just outside the sleepy Cotswolds village of Leighterton, youll find Bennetts Farm Shop, but its not your regular type of farm shop!

Bennetts Farm Shop is the first farm shop of its kind in the area, using a mix of high-tech innovative vending machines, as well as other self-service options, to showcase and offer quality, local produce from Gloucestershire and the surrounding counties. The unique vending machines offer a real fun experience for people of all ages, and local children who visit regularly for their milkshakes and sweet treats have even likened it to being on a game show!

It is the creation of farmers and foodies, Simon and Tara Best, an entrepreneurial married couple who love good food, unique experiences and shopping local. They have their own herd of Aberdeen Angus beef cattle, all of which are 100% grass fed, and reared in a regenerative, sustainable manner. The couple even own 2 Aberdeen Angus bulls, who regularly feature on the social media channels! This enables them to be in complete control of the breeding, rearing, and finishing of the animals, so they can ensure the top-quality beef, that is rich in flavour, has a fantastic texture and is high in nutritional quality.

The shop is in a converted barn overlooking stunning scenery of the nearby rolling hills. In there, youll find the Aberdeen Angus beef, as well as local meats, seasonal fruits and vegetables, dairy products, sweet and savoury treats as well as kitchen staples, a self-service coffee machine, milk vending machine and syrup bar to make milkshakes and even treats for the dogs! All of the produce at Bennetts Farm Shop shares the ethos of the brand; quality, local, high welfare and sustainable.

Over on the farm shop social media and website, you can learn more about choosing different cuts of meat, understand more about how quality food can be reared while working with, not against, the environment, as well as what it really means to rear meat regeneratively.

Si and Tara are truly committed to spreading the word about the benefits of knowing where your food comes from, why choosing local, quality food is important and how you can help support local farmers and producers, all while doing your bit for the environment and enjoying delicious food while doing it.
