Following an inspection in January, Hillesley CofE School has now received its full OFSTED report.   After a two-day inspection, the inspectors judged that the school is GOOD!

“I was delighted with the great news of a Good outcome,” said Mrs Lucy Chandler, head teacher. “We’d had immediate feedback from the inspectors in January that was encouraging but we were only recently able to share the outcome and full report with children, parents, staff and governors.

Inspectors found that the school vision, “growing together in learning and in life’, embodies the sense of unity that permeates this small school”.  The inspectors go on to talk about the school as a ‘highly inclusive place to learn” where “pupils are rightly proud of their school”.

Particular strengths of Hillesley CEVA School in the report included how pupils are polite and, without thinking, are thoughtful and caring towards each other, living out the school’s core, Christian values, and the opportunity for pupils develop to interests and talents through the diverse range of daily, after-school clubs.

“The report reflects very well who we are” said Chair of Governors, Mrs Gillian Hayward. “And it was really encouraging that the area for improvement identified was already in our school development plan as an area detected by the staff and governors for improvement.”

Mrs Chandler added, “With many good schools in the local area, I consider the nurturing environment and an abundance of opportunities at Hillesley Primary to be the real strength of this school.  “Children, staff, parents and Governors have all worked together and it is brilliant that OFSTED inspectors have recognised the fruits of that work in the behaviour, progress and achievements of our pupils!”
