Synopsis: Marking 10 years since its original release, and 40 years since the miners' strike, this classic crowdpleaser starring Bill Nighy, Dominic West and Imelda Staunton is showing as part of Wotton-under-Edge's first Pride day. Summer of 1984 – Margaret Thatcher is in power and the National Union of Mineworkers is on strike. At the Gay Pride March in London, a group of activists decides to raise money to support the families of the striking miners. But the Union seems embarrassed to receive their support. Undeterred, the activists set off to deepest Wales in a mini bus to make their donation in person. And so begins the extraordinary story of two seemingly alien communities who form a surprising and ultimately triumphant partnership.
