Planning consent has been approved for a re-opened railway station at Charfield, the project will now move to the detailed design stage that will contribute to the full business case and that will be presented to the West of England Combined Authority for funding before moving to the construction stage.

The station is expected to operate on a one hourly service between Gloucester, Cam, Charfield, Yate,  Parkway, Filton Abbeywood and Bristol Temple Meads, it is hoped that this will improve to a half hourly service as capacity on the line is improved.

The station is designed to accommodate passengers within a five kilometre radius of Charfield and will open education and employment opportunities for our young people as well as meeting the needs of the commuters and taking cars off our roads.
