Thirty years ago, two friends with a shared dream opened the doors of Four Market Street—and what a journey it has been!
Back then, Joanne and Nicki were two local girls from KLB School with a passion for hairdressing. After training and achieving their NVQ Level III qualifications and working side by side in the same company, they decided to take the leap and start a business of their own right in the heart of Wotton-under-Edge. Four Market Street was established.
Fast forward three decades, and their salon has become more than just a place to have your hair styled —it’s a hub of laughter, friendship, and community spirit. Jo and Nicki are incredibly proud and grateful, not just for thirty successful years in business, but for the wonderful relationships they’ve built along the way.
What’s their secret? A deep respect for each other, a shared work ethic, and a friendship that has stood the test of time. They say:

They’d like to give heartfelt thanks to everyone who has supported them on this incredible journey — their loyal customers, trusted suppliers, past and present staff, accountants, landlord B Walker & Co, and of course, their dear families. A very special mention goes to Kerrin, whose dedication, hard work, and friendship have been truly invaluable over the years.
Here’s to the next chapter! Jo and Nicki look forward to continuing to welcome both familiar faces and, when availability opens up, welcome new ones too through their doors, offering not just great hair, but a warm and friendly salon experience.
