Sharing is Caring

Sunday 23rd July was Wotton junior parkrun’s 100th event.

We celebrated the start of the school holidays with a Beach Party theme. There was a sand finish funnel, donkeys, deckchairs, grass skirts, sun hats, dry robes. Wotton Rovers U9’s were selling cakes.

We were most delighted that there were 44 finishers. A post-covid record! Since May the number of runners has consistently remained in double figures. Hooray!

Wotton Community PARC junior parkrun is a free, fun, and friendly weekly 2k event for juniors (4 to 14 year olds). It takes place every Sunday at 9am and is preceded by a super quick and fun warm-up at 8:55am at Wotton Community PARC, New Road.

The new course is mainly on grass, but there is a section where you run along the path by the Skatepark and Pump Track.

Its *FREE* to take part, all you need to do is register with parkrun and print your barcode. www.parkrun.org.uk/register/

Parkrun can be participated in any style you like, run, jog, walk, skip, jump, and your achievements are logged along the way with wristbands for half-marathon (11 completed junior parkruns), full marathon (21) and ultra distances (50).

Wotton junior parkrun is entirely organised by volunteers. We couldn’t make this event happen without our Hi-Viz Heroes and thank them for their continued support in parkrun’s mission statement to create a HEALTHIER and HAPPIER planet.

If you would like to be a part of the FUN, FUN, FUN please do come along.
