Sharing is Caring

Everyone who lives and works in the Stroud district is invited to contribute to Stroud District Council’s key priorities and objectives for the next five years.

The consultation on the Draft Council Plan closes on Monday 9th December 2024, providing an opportunity for the community to share their views on the council’s vision for the future.

The Draft Council Plan outlines five strategic priorities:

  1. Environment, Climate and Nature

Protecting and enhancing our natural environment, responding to climate challenges, and promoting sustainability.

  1. Local Economy

Supporting a thriving local economy that provides opportunities for businesses and residents.

  1. Communities and wellbeing

Fostering healthy, inclusive and resilient communities where everyone feels empowered and supported.

  1. Housing

Improving access to quality, affordable and energy efficient housing that is fit for purpose and meets the needs of our residents.

  1. Working for our communities

Strengthening our role as a responsive and efficient council that actively supports our residents

Residents can review the full draft plan and submit their feedback online via www.stroud.gov.uk/haveyoursay until 9 December. Hard copies of the survey are also available at various locations across the district including Stroud District Council Offices. Click here for the Draft Plan consultation homepage.

Following the consultation period, responses will be thoroughly analysed and considered, and amendments will be made to the Plan as appropriate. The revised plan will then be presented for approval at the Full Council meeting in February 2025.

Catherine Braun, Leader of Stroud District Council said: “This consultation is a chance for everyone to have their say on the priorities that will drive our work over the next five years. We encourage everyone to take part in the consultation process as your feedback will help refine our priorities and ensure we’re addressing the issues that matter most to people in our local area.”
