Why advertise in the Wotton Directory?

Isn't paper dead now?

Paper is far from extinct. The experience of holding and smelling printed material is something that cannot be replicated online and remains a reliable and effective way for businesses to connect with their customers. Additionally, not everyone is online, and it’s crucial not to exclude potential customers who don’t use the internet.

How do your magazines get delivered?

We take pride in delivering our monthly magazines to our readers with the help of our hand-picked distribution team. With over 5,000 copies distributed monthly,  we ensure that each magazine is delivered accurately to its intended recipient. Our distributors use GPS tracker apps which record every house they visit and gives our advertisers confidence that each copy really is being delivered.

What if I don't receive any calls from my advert?

Advertising is a long-term solution that requires a budget and patience and is an investment that can’t be rushed. Studies have shown that potential customers need to see your advertisement at least four times before they’re ready to take the plunge and buy your product or service. This is why consistency is the name of the game in the advertising world.

Where are the magazines delivered and how often?

Our magazines are published monthly and distributed during the first week of each month to Wotton-under-Edge, Charfield, Kingswood, Hillesley, North Nibley, and Wickwar. We also leave copies in local hotels, petrol stations, cafes, shops and other locations in these villages /towns for people to pick up.

What is your circulation?

Current total circulation is over 5,000 hand-delivered through the letterboxes of homes and businesses, with a further 500 copies placed in various locations around each village/town for pick up.

How much does it cost to advertise?

Please see our Advertising page for our pricing and discounted package prices and to download a media pack. Prices start from only £40 through to £170 (before discounts). Prices are exclusive of VAT.

Can I advertise for one issue only?

While it is possible to see some results with a single ad, it’s typically most effective when promoting events. For other businesses, it’s recommended to invest in repeated advertising for at least four to six months to see a noticeable increase in sales and brand growth. A single advertisement on its own is unlikely to yield significant results.

What are the copy deadlines each month?

15th of each month prior to your advertisement appearing.

Can you help me design my advert?

We offer a design service for you if required. Full and Half page advert design costs just £50 plus VAT, with Quarter and Eighth page ads only £30 plus VAT. Just provide us with your logo, contact details, text and images that you would like to use, and we will do the rest.

Which payment methods do you accept?

We accept various payment methods, including debit/credit cards, bank transfers, and direct debit payments. Direct Debits are only active for the duration of your booking period and are not recurring, which means you don’t have to worry about remembering to cancel them or having funds deducted unexpectedly. All payments are required before we go to print each month.

Do you distribute leaflets?

Most definitely. We have a maximum of three leaflets per issue and these are all tucked inside our magazines. The cost is £269.50 plus VAT for 5,500 flyers.

Do you allow advertorials?

All advertorial articles are subject to a fee. The cost will depend on the content of your written piece and the size of your booking. However, we may offer a discount based on these factors.

Do you offer a discount for Charities?

We have a limited amount of advertising and editorial space available in each issue for Charities and Not For Profit organisations which is accepted at our discretion. Once these spaces are filled, we offer a 20% discount.

It is possible to have a mention included on our Community Page free of charge, space allowing.
