Sharing is Caring

Some voices are instantly recognisable. Rick Astley’s is one of them.

And on Saturday 29th May 2027, that unmistakable voice will be filling The Ridings in Chipping Sodbury, as one of Britain’s most ageless pop icons takes centre stage at Good Times Live.

Four decades of music. Generations of fans. A back catalogue that barely needs an introduction. This is going to be one very special Bank Holiday Saturday.

From 80s Icon to Festival Favourite

When “Never Gonna Give You Up” arrived in 1987, few could have predicted quite how far it would travel. A worldwide number one, a defining pop anthem and, eventually, the soundtrack to one of the internet’s most long-lasting jokes (ever been Rickrolled?). Not bad for a debut single.

But Rick Astley’s career is stronger than just one BIG song. With hits including “Together Forever”, “Whenever You Need Somebody” and “Cry For Help”, he became one of the defining voices of late-80s British pop, selling millions of records around the world.

And while plenty of artists from that era are content to let nostalgia do the heavy lifting, Rick has taken a rather different approach. His return to the charts with the number one album 50 in 2016 marked the beginning of an impressive new chapter. Since then, he’s become a fixture on major festival stages, including a memorable Glastonbury appearance in 2023 that introduced him to an entirely new audience.

These days, Rick’s live shows are as much about the unexpected as the familiar. He’s a natural entertainer, with a brilliant sense of humour, a powerful voice and a genuine love of performing. Which makes him a rather good fit for Good Times Live.

And they’ve called The Feeling too!

Joining Rick as very special guests on Saturday night are The Feeling, one of Britain’s best-loved pop-rock bands.

Bursting onto the scene in 2006 with their debut album Twelve Stops and Home, The Feeling quickly became responsible for some of the decade’s biggest singalong hits.

“Fill My Little World”, “Love It When You Call” and “Never Be Lonely” helped establish the band as masters of ridiculously catchy melodies and big, uplifting choruses.

Two brilliant British acts. Decades of familiar songs. One stage.

And the full Saturday line-up hasn’t even been revealed yet.

A Big Saturday Night in a Little Market Town

For Good Times Live co-founder James Murden, bringing Rick Astley to Chipping Sodbury is another exciting milestone in the event’s rapid growth.

“There’s something pretty special about bringing an artist like Rick Astley to our little corner of the world,” says James. “He’s got that rare ability to connect with people of all ages. Some have been fans since the eighties, others have discovered him much more recently, but everyone knows those songs. And having The Feeling joining him makes the whole evening even better. We can’t wait to see it all come together.”

Good Times Live welcomed more than 32,000 visitors across six days in 2026, continuing to establish Chipping Sodbury as a destination for major live entertainment.

With large-scale staging, incredible sound, spectacular lighting, lasers and visual effects, Good Times Live has continued to invest in creating an experience that rivals much larger concert venues. All without having to leave the edge of the Cotswolds.

And that’s just Saturday!

The 2027 programme is already looking rther impressive.

Kaiser Chiefs will headline Friday 28th May, joined by The Lottery Winners and Bristol’s own The Ramona Flowers. On Sunday 30th May, Olly Murs takes over for another huge night of live music, with very special guests still to be announced.

And for those who prefer their entertainment with a healthy dose of laughter, the Good Times Live Comedy Gala will feature Rob Beckett, Dara Ó Briain, Rhys James and Lou Sanders, with Matt Richardson hosting.

Following a record-breaking 2026, Good Times Live returns from 26th – 31st May 2027, bringing six days of music, comedy, family entertainment and unforgettable experiences to The Ridings.

With more announcements still to come, there’s plenty to look forward to.

Rick Astley and The Feeling will perform at Good Times Live on Saturday 29th May 2027.

Gates open at 2pm, with live music from 3pm and entertainment continuing until 11pm.
