Synopsis:ย Marking 10 years since itsย original release, and 40 yearsย since the miners’ strike, thisย classicย crowd-pleaserย starringย Bill Nighy, Dominic West andย Imelda Staunton is showing as partย ofย Wotton-under-Edge’s firstย Pride day.ย Summer of 1984 โ Margaret Thatcher is in power, and the National Union of Mineworkersย is on strike. At the Gay Pride March in London, a group of activists decides to raise money to support the families of the striking miners. But the Union seems embarrassed to receive their support. Undeterred, the activists set off to deepest Wales in aย minibusย to make their donation in person. And so begins the extraordinary story of two seemingly alien communities who form a surprising and ultimately triumphant partnership.
