Discover this enchanting place and our stunning collection of exotic and veteran trees!
We invite you to enjoy the peace, wander through a grove of redwoods, follow a map of natural trails or go off grid and create your own, discover an ancient arena, explore fallen trees masquerading as climbing frames, swing in a hammock above a carpet of bluebells, befriend three friendly and inquisitive goats, wander over beautiful bridges over babbling brooks, enjoy the wildlife and much more. Once you’ve finished your walk, or if you need a brief break, just follow the enticing smell of woodsmoke back to the Round House where a warm beverage awaits you.
Connect with yourself, connect with your loved ones, connect with nature. Trees are natures umbrellas, so we’ll be there come rain or shine!

Join us on a fantastic sunrise journey of discovery at Tortworth Forest Centre this Spring.
Explore the tranquil magic of the arboretum in the pre-dawn, then marvel as the forest comes to life. Expand your knowledge on the different species of birds as we learn to recognise them by their song, flight patterns and silhouettes.
This informative walk will begin in our handcrafted Round House, with an introduction to the characteristics of the different species who make their home here.
You will then explore the arboretum on a leisurely paced walk led by our Bristol based expert, Matt Brierley, learning some great facts about birds.
We’ll finish back at the Round House fire so you can warm your cockles with a hot beverage before heading home to share your new found knowledge with friends and family!
Stay overnight and enjoy the slightly more muted, but equally beautiful, Dusk chorus on Friday 21st April with our Camping Ticket. Bring your own dinner to cook over the fire before sleeping under the stars surrounded by our stunning ancient tree collection. Limited number available. Advanced booking essential.
