Elmore Festival 2025

Elmore Festival 2025
6–9 August | St. John the Baptist Church, Elmore, Gloucestershire

The Elmore Festival takes place in the historic 13th-century St John the Baptist Church, nestled  near the scenic banks of the River Severn in the heart of Gloucestershire’s picturesque  countryside. Held annually over four days in early August, the festival offers a warm and  welcoming atmosphere where audiences can enjoy world-class chamber music performed by  some of the most talented and critically acclaimed young musicians of their generation.

Since its inaugural event in August 2020 – when the festival bravely adapted to the challenges of  the COVID-19 pandemic by moving outdoors just days before the first concert – Elmore Festival  has steadily established itself as a prominent fixture among UK chamber music events. Returning  to its intended home in 2021, the festival has grown each year, drawing both musicians and  audiences to experience exceptional performances in this stunning historic venue.

This year’s lineup features the multi-award-winning Novo Quartet, violinist Braimah Kanneh Mason, the Elmore Quartet, pianist Ben Powell, double bassist Toby Hughes, organist Henry  Fairs, clarinettist James Gilbert, and the Scottie Thompson Jazz Trio – whose sold-out  appearance last year confirmed the festival’s growing popularity and eclectic spirit.

True to its community spirit, Elmore also nurtures emerging talent through dedicated workshops,  masterclasses, and showcases, involving around 20 local schoolchildren annually and connecting  the next generation with professional musicians.

Alongside outstanding music, the festival prides itself on exceptional hospitality. The Festival Bar,  in partnership with Gloucester’s award-winning Pelican Inn, offers a superb selection of local  ciders and freshly brewed cask ales from the renowned Wye Valley Brewery, just across the River  Severn.

With its blend of historic charm, artistic excellence, and community engagement, Elmore Festival  continues to enrich Gloucestershire’s cultural landscape, offering an intimate and inspiring  musical experience.
